Deadly in Love is a short mystery by Tracey Michelle. Jason and Tonya are a happy, successful couple managing a company. But their lives soon change when Tonya’s best friend, Jessica, is murdered and Shirley, an employee who Jason fired, is found dead in her apartment. Detectives Brown and Verdes are persistent in their investigation and Tonya has become their prime suspect. They stalk Tonya, who is at her wits' end, and Jason is angry with the cops for harassing them. The couple tries to resume a normal life, but Tonya begins to have doubts about Jason, especially when she finds out that he has been keeping secrets from her. Fueled by the brash detectives' accusations, she begins to wonder if she really knows the man she is in love with.
Tracey Michelle’s Deadly in Love is a mind teasing mystery. She doesn’t waste words as she writes in a very direct manner, although I did find the story slightly predictable at times. However, Tracey Michelle included a few thought provoking twists into the plot, which were good. It made me cast my suspicions on certain characters, while overlooking a couple of them because they didn’t appear to have any obvious motives. I especially liked the conclusion, which I did not see coming, as it was another unexpected loop. It has a nice cover to match the story. This is an interesting book if you’re looking for something that can be easily pass the time.
