Charlie Hendricks had a successful military career with numerous deployments keeping him away from home, but now he really wants to try to enjoy life with his family. Working for a high-powered firm on a multi-billion-dollar project, however, is not going to leave him much time. Deadly Highway by J. Stewart Willis delves into the complexities of a road construction project that involves greed, power struggles and the government, leaving unsuspecting pawns in the dust.

While managing a development team and trying to prove himself to his superiors, Charlie also faces challenges at home. Family dynamics as well as the cut-throat tactics of office politics play a big role in Deadly Highway and keep you wondering how it will all fit together. Not everyone is what they seem to be until you dig a bit deeper and then the action really gets interesting. With proposal deadlines looming, major events shake up the office. Who will still have a job and at what cost?

Descriptions of amazing technology and intriguing sub-plots drive Deadly Highway by J. Stewart Willis. Although a bit slow to start, the action picks up and shows the kind of ruthless competition that takes place in the corporate and social world in and around Washington DC. This is an interesting read that deals with many subtleties of human emotion and corporate culture while depicting an almost sci-fi like highway construction project. Settle in for a bumpy ride in Deadly Highway and enjoy the twists and turns as the action plays out!
