David fell asleep in class because he was tired from studying the planets the previous night. He had the most amazing dream while he was asleep. He woke up on Mercury and was the first human to visit the rocky planet. In David’s Space Flight by Kim Dwyer, David visits every planet in the solar system. While visiting, he learns the names of the planets in the solar system in order from the sun. He also learns very interesting and fun facts about each of the planets. There is at least one fun fact about each planet that he can remember. His teacher, Mrs. Smith-Chen, called his name and he woke up from his dream. He felt very happy when he woke up.

David’s Space Flight by Kim Dwyer shares information in an accessible way that sparks interest in the planets and the solar system. The book is well written and the words flow naturally from page to page. I liked the illustrations that are bright and colorful on a black background. There are questions asked about our five senses and children have to read the story to find the answers. They learn a mnemonic device, a memory technique that can help increase their ability to recall and retain information. The story skillfully entertains young readers while educating them about the planets and the solar system. Kim Dwyer provides a unique reading experience and interaction for children. A coloring page is added for youngsters to color and they have to draw a picture of David. I recommend this book for children and parents who have an interest in the solar system.

David's Space Flight is a delightful adventure story meant to teach young readers about the planets of our solar system. Written by Kim Dwyer, the book follows David, a third-grade kid who unfortunately falls asleep in his class one day. Soon, he finds himself transported to the rocky planet of Mercury. With the burning sun on his face, David wishes he had a sunhat and a drink. After witnessing the lavas of Venus, David lands in Australia on Earth. He sees a full-grown leaping kangaroo and marvels at the abundance of flora and fauna on his home planet. One by one, David traverses the rest of the planets of the solar system and learns each of their unique qualities. But can he wake up before Mrs. Smith-Chen catches him napping in class?

A fun-filled adventure that teaches children the distinctive features of each of the planets, David's Space Flight is an entertaining read that kids will devour with relish. Author Kim Dwyer finds a way to create a story that is informative as well as engaging and enjoyable to read. It is a short story that can be read in one sitting. David is a likable character, and through him, the young reader gets to travel across the entire solar system. What makes learning about the planets fun is Dwyer's ability to present the facts in an immersive way. You will find yourself brimming with curiosity, trying to guess the distinctive feature of the next planet. I thoroughly enjoyed David's Space Flight. Recommended to kids.

David's Space Flight by Kim Dwyer is a children’s tale that centers around David and the class lesson on the different planets. David studies hard to remember all the planets’ names and falls asleep in class. He dreams about Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and the possible Planet Nine (Behemoth). He learns about them as he sleeps and goes on an adventure of a lifetime!

Kim Dwyer’s David’s Space Flight is an educational, simply illustrated children’s book that focuses on the solar system’s planets and their different characteristics. David falls asleep and dreams about what he has learned from each planet. Along with the pictures, it was easy for me to visualize and differentiate the planets. I appreciate how the descriptions are short and to the point. The book delves into the unique characteristics of each planet, like their different colors or varying temperatures, and the other names they are known by. An example would be Dwyer's description of Neptune, which is known as the 'ice giant' because it is four times wider than the earth and is very cold and windy. There are also fun facts about the solar system added at the end.

David’s Space Flight encourages young readers to remember what they learned by asking about what David felt, heard, saw, smelled, and almost tasted in his dream. The book also gives useful advice on how to remember the planets of the solar system through mnemonics. To sum it up, this is the book you want to read if you’re looking for an easy way to remember what makes up the solar system. Good job!
