In a fascinating and nail-biting new read by debut author S.K. Ryder, Dark Heart of the Sun: Dark Destinies Book One, readers will be treated to a story that will keep them obsessively turning the pages from the start all the way through to the very end. Follow the story of rookie journalist Cassie Chandler, a young woman with a lot of questions, not the least of them being how she got a wicked bruise on her neck, and why she can’t remember a chunk of time. She’s so certain that her fiancé is keeping something from her that she ends their engagement and moves out, determined to find the truth. When she meets Dominic Marchant, an enchanting Frenchman, the intrigue only increases. Dominic definitely has his secrets, the most important being that he is a newborn vampire being hunted by some pretty dangerous foes. Try as he might, he can’t help falling in love with Cassie. Will this clandestine relationship have a chance, or will both Cassie and Dominic come to a disastrous end? You’ll need to read the book to find out!
I so enjoyed Dark Heart of the Sun: Dark Destinies Book One. Author S.K. Ryder has done a fantastic job in creating characters that her readers will connect with, relate to and truly come to care about, thinking of them long after the book is done. If that isn’t a hallmark of a great author, I’m not sure what is. Her ability to create a realistic story with a supernatural twist is simply second to none and the chemistry between her main characters is hot, hot, hot! I am so pleased to be able to highly recommend this book to any reader who enjoys a great work of paranormal fiction, and I certainly look forward to reading more from the obviously talented author, S.K. Ryder, in the very near future!
