Romance and the paranormal woven together in a beautiful story, Dark Healer by E.J. Powell, is a gorgeous treat for fans of stories with strong characters, great psychological conflicts and complex plots. Helena is the living embodiment of beauty and strength. She has honed her fighting skills over the years and she has the gift of healing. While she can heal others, her broken heart knows no peace and that is until she meets Colt. After the murder of his family by vampires, Colt has lived by revenge, hunting them down and killing them, determined to rid the world of their breed. But meeting Helena changes everything. He is seduced by her beauty and mesmerized by her strength. But will Helena open her heart to him? You’ll have to read on to discover what happens when Colt’s life is put in danger.
E.J. Powell is a great storyteller with a gift for plot and character. This author’s style will appeal to fans of Christopher Pike. The writing flows with singular fluidity and the accessible diction coupled with the author’s unique phraseology makes for a great reading experience. I loved the way the author handles the romance and electricity between Helena and Colt. It’s enjoyable navigating the hearts of the characters. The emotion comes out strongly and makes the characters real and relatable. Dark Healer is fast paced, suspenseful, and emotionally charged. I found it hard to put down, thanks to the great storytelling, the riveting plot, and the compelling characters. E.J. Powell transports you into another world, a perfect escape for fans of the paranormal and romance.
