Cybersecurity for Small and Midsize Businesses by Marlon Bermudez is a non-fiction self-help guide that serves as a launchpad for organizations that may be unaware of how severely a cyber attack can impact their business, and what should be done to stand the best chance of circumventing one. Detailed over nine incredibly comprehensive chapters, Bermudez combines vast expertise and experience as he covers everything from the birth and basic framework of The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), the legalities and responsibilities of adherence by all organizations to understanding what makes an organization susceptible to hacking and data breach, and greatly reducing a risk that can destroy a business.
Marlon Bermudez has compiled the single most exhaustive guide on cybercrime that I've read...and I've read dozens. There is no such thing as a one-size-fits-all approach to protecting an organization's information and assets, but what sets Cybersecurity for Small and Midsize Businesses apart from the rest of a crowded pack is Bermudez's ability to break down aspects that tend to be incredibly confusing to a layperson and turn them into a virtual encyclopedia of relatable information. There is a point of view that I found to be particularly interesting, and that is Bermudez's stance that cybersecurity breaches affect organizations and its clients who put their trust in an organization that didn't take their protection seriously. Very highly recommended.
