Covid-19 Africa, Haiti, And The U.S. Virgin Islands is a non-fiction book by Dr. Hugues F. Batsielilit on the novel virus that has plagued the world for 2 years. This book explores the reality of Covid-19 in the eyes of developing countries that struggled to contain the virus due to the unique characteristics of the countries. From the human condition, government, technology, politics, and diseases, Dr. Hugues F. Batsielilit shares with us the history and evolution of the SARS-COV strain, his observation on the progression of Covid-19 in Africa, Haiti, and the U.S. Virgin Islands, its impact on society, and how such countries could move forward into the future with the virus.
Covid-19 Africa, Haiti, And The U.S. Virgin Islands by Dr. Hugues F. Batsielilit is an eye-opening journey and a reflection on the mismanagement that made Covid-19 into a worldwide pandemic for what felt like 2 years too long. I really liked how the author also included a past evaluation on the state of Covid-19 in these countries, which gave a short but sufficient overview of the overall condition of Covid-19 in the respective countries, along with a look at the multiple variations of Coronaviruses. Aside from the in-depth explanations of Covid-19 over denial by leading figures and the public in these developing countries, Dr. Hugues F. Batsielilit also stressed that precautionary measures should still be taken to ensure that another surge of cases does not happen. The emphasis on this area shows the severity of the virus but also gives hope that a sense of normalcy will return, albeit a little different. This book is a very thorough investigation of Covid-19, definitely an interesting read!
