Cookie is the story of a little girl that will eat nothing but cookies. She has cookies for breakfast, cookies, for lunch, cookies for dinner and for snack. Her parents tell her that someday she’ll turn into a cookie. That fateful day comes. She notices a trail of crumbs behind her. A dog nibbles on her leg. Mom comes to the rescue with broccoli. If Cookie will eat healthy food and save the cookies for dessert maybe she’ll turn into a little girl again.
I have a grandson that would eat chicken nuggets, for breakfast, lunch, dinner and snack. I’ve often teased him that some day he will turn into a chicken nugget. He giggles and I pretend to take a bit. I can hardly wait for his next visit so we can read this story together.
Cookie is a delightful book that will entice the most finicky eater into munching their broccoli. The illustrations compliment the text. I love this story. Children will relate to the theme and the message.
