Coming Darkness by Susan-Alia Terry is a unique paranormal story that takes you outside the realm of anything you've ever known. It begins with the biggest of all mysteries - God is missing, Heaven is empty, and angels are disappearing at an alarming rate. Even Lucifer himself is surprised at this discovery, and soon finds that there are other forces beyond angels, demons, vampires, werewolves, Heaven, and Hell that threaten to bring an end to all that's known. Add a human captured by the Archangel Uriel during a botched attempt to collect on a contract, and you have a mystery like nothing you've ever read before.
Coming Darkness is a story like no other, taking you through places, worlds, and dimensions beyond space, time, and reality. It's a fast paced, thrilling ride that challenges all you think you know and helps you to see that there's more to it all than you can imagine. Susan-Alia Terry is a masterful storyteller that makes otherworldly characters seem so close (and similar) to humanity. In fact, Uriel was such a fascinating character that I wish I could meet him now! In fact, all of the characters are compelling, interesting, and in some ways even fun, albeit in a twisted way. It stretches beyond all realms of the paranormal and supernatural that you can imagine.
If you're looking for something different and don't mind having your notions of angels and demons stretched, then this is an intriguing read that I highly recommend. It's not for the faint of heart or those that don't like their faith questioned, but it's not gory and is a great read.
