Circle of 6 Graphic Serial Vol. 1: Welcome Home is a work of fiction in the supernatural action, horror, and suspense subgenres. It is best suited to the mature adult reading audience owing to scenes of gore, violence, and intense situations. It was penned by author team William Butler and Aaron Strongoni, with illustrations by artist Brian James Gage. This opening volume introduces readers to Ashley Gibson, who inherits a house in Marblehead, Massachusetts, only to discover its dark secrets intertwined with the town's haunted history, particularly the vengeful spirits of six witches from the Salem witch trials.
Author team William Butler and Aaron Strongoni have put their best talents together to craft an immersive dive into a world where the past and present collide in chilling ways. The atmospheric setting of Marblehead, with its whispers of old curses and vengeful spirits, provided a haunting backdrop for Ashley's journey, and I thought the visceral nature of the storytelling and dialogue complemented the dark vision of the setting. As she navigates the eerie happenings surrounding her new home and confronts the tormented souls of the witches, the narrative unfolds with gripping tension and suspense that keeps you flipping pages and staring in open-mouthed wonder at what comes next. The stunning artwork by illustrator Brian James Gage brought this well-paced and compelling story to life, capturing the sinister atmosphere and supernatural elements with cinematic flair and a suitably dark tone and mood. Overall, Circle of 6 is a highly recommended graphic novel that will keep readers on the edge of their seats, and I am certainly eagerly anticipating the next spine-tingling installment.
