Check Your Reality: Transforming Distorted Thinking For Lasting Empowerment & Well-Being by Brian M Keltner is a to-the-point self-help book that you can start using today. As hard as some people try, they still don't seem to achieve their goals and dreams. Sometimes this isn't their fault. This author explains how thought processes can actually block your road to success and happiness. Knowing this, Keltner will show you how to break through the fog and rise above the obstacles in your psyche. You may think that it's impossible to stand in your own way, but this book shows you how easily you can deceive yourself, and how to act based on what you think about yourself, your situation, and the future. The first step is to recognize that you are the only one that can do anything about your situation.
The author doesn't just toss a bunch of ideas at the reader. He uses fundamental wisdom and storytelling handed down through the ages, a.k.a. stoic wisdom, along with a psychological approach, and techniques that have been proven to work. And don't feel that you're alone in your situation. Many people experience this, and the author gives inspirational examples from Albert Einstein to Carl Sagan. There are a lot of self-help books in stores and online today, but not every self-help author can convey their points in the useful or practical way that Keltner does. Think of it as a mind journey that you will take with this book and this author as your guide. This book addresses personal goals you may have, including career and relationships, but psychological ones too, like dealing with anxiety or depression. I like how the author explains patterns like denial, entitlement, change, victimhood, polarization, self-awareness, self-defeat, conflict--just to name a few. For a refreshing approach to self-help that asks readers to take some responsibility, you must make Check Your Reality: Transforming Distorted Thinking For Lasting Empowerment & Well-Being by Brian M Keltner a reading priority.
