Chase Across Time: Search for the Ice Castle of Fire is a children's sci-fi/fantasy adventure novel by Z. Altug and Tracy Gensler. Danny is a ten-year-old boy with no special powers. Born as a Non, Danny often struggles to fit in as he travels aboard the spaceship Exploricus. When his parents are abducted by the evil Emperor Daaggerd, who seeks the Ancient Book of Spells and Exploricus, Danny, with the help of his crewmates, must embark on a journey through space and time to find the Ice Castle of Fire. Along the way, Danny must gather his friends from all seven continents on Earth. However, the journey isn't devoid of danger as Danny and his friends encounter angry robots, creepy warriors, mobsters, and other challenges before a final confrontation with the emperor himself. Can Danny save his parents?
A seamless blend of genres, including sci-fi, fantasy, and adventure, makes Chase Across Time a delicious brew that will quench the thirst of a wide range of readers. Z. Altug and Tracy Gensler take readers on a thrilling sci-fi/fantasy odyssey that will have them on the edge of their seats until the end. The narrative is action-packed, and the plot is full of unexpected twists and turns. Although the cast of characters is quite large, everyone has a distinct voice and personality that make them stand out. Danny is a courageous kid who will not hesitate to face any danger to rescue his parents. I found him adorable and easy to root for. Recommended to sci-fi/fantasy adventure lovers.
