Captive Wolf (The Venn Pack in Love 3) by Elodie Parkes is a paranormal romantic suspense story about a captured shaped shifter, Ryder Venn. When Ryder is captured and tortured by shape shifter hunters, he has no idea how he will escape or if he can handle any more torture. Luckily, he is attended to by Evie Thomas, who is trying her best to nurse him back to health. The shape shifter hunters plan to force Ryder into cage fighting, but Evie has a plan to help him escape, which has never happened before. What Ryder doesn't know is Evie's motivation. Why is she helping him if she is part of the hunting pack? What secrets is she hiding? When Ryder learns why Evie infiltrated the club, his love for her deepens even more and he promises to protect her, no matter what.
This is a really nice romance that pits shape shifting and paranormal aspects with realistic and contemporary love and romance. I loved the story because it was well-written, well described, and never felt rushed or forced. The author did a nice job of giving great details in every scene, but they were always details that made sense and were needed within the story. The relationship between Ryder and Evie was sweet and very relatable. I loved how their passion for each other grew as the story progressed. I also liked how the action started from page one and never stopped until the end. Nice job!
