Brandon and Isobelle’s Halloween Adventure by Luke Mathius Harlow revolves around the Halloween theme. It’s Halloween and Brandon is planning his tricking and treating with sister Isobelle. Brandon is very excited as a scary skull speaks when he knocks on the door of a house. At the next house, he gets treats from a little girl. Both Brandon and Isobelle have got enough scary treats for Halloween. Both of them are tired and they go back home. Before going to bed, Brandon wants to play with his pumpkin. He takes it to the garden and lights it. Brandon’s lit pumpkin looks scary.
It’s a cute storybook for kids and captures the essence of Halloween nicely. The pictures are colorful and they help young readers connect well with Brandon and his sister Isobelle. It’s a good bedtime storybook and can also be used for read aloud sessions in class and school libraries during Halloween. Kids will love both Brandon and Isobelle, and their Halloween adventure is fun, real, and relatable. The book will hold the attention of young readers, with the talking, scary skull adding to the spookiness.
Stories like this are good for children as an introduction to new ideas and concepts, and are easy to understand when narrated with the help of colorful pictures and a story. Children learn about tricks, treats, and pumpkins associated with Halloween and they will not want to go back home on Halloween night.
