Big Love: Learning to Live with God Inside is the second book in the A Child’s Heart series by Mary Alice Burt. Following on from the first book, Lil’ Kid is back, and this time he wants to know what it’s like to live filled with God’s love. He’s about to learn some valuable lessons about being kind and how to be patient, to wait calmly for God’s love to come to him. He learns to see through “God’s glasses,” finding a new perspective on understanding himself and those around him. He learns that he doesn’t have to do anything to gain God’s love but be himself. Join Lil’ Kid on his new journey of discovery about God and open the door in your heart to let him in.
Big Love by Mary Alice Burt continues Lil’ Kid’s journey from the first book and is illustrated once again by the talented Charanya Kalamegam. Again, this is written from a child’s perspective, making it easy for young readers to follow and understand the many lessons. The story teaches children patience and kindness, and that God’s love is all around and within every one of us. This is another well-written story packed with messages and some lovely poems and words of wisdom for children and their caregivers or teachers to read. The book has simple examples for children to learn and practice and contains a very clever way of showing them how to let God in – by opening an imaginary door in their hearts. Another highly recommended book to read at home and school.
