Between Two Worlds by Christy Santo is an intriguing science-fiction novella. Rebecca is a guest at a 2006 Halloween party in Bloomington, Indiana, but becomes overheated in the overcrowded house and decides to leave early. She is going down the staircase when she is bumped from behind and has a serious fall. As a result of striking her head, Rebecca loses consciousness, and when she wakes up, Rebecca finds herself in 1983 in Fanwood, New Jersey. She is in possession of another Rebecca's identity, job, home, and family. They are nice enough, but Rebecca wishes to be in her own home and with her own family and back in university. Fanwood is the town that Rebecca grew up in as a small child. How is it going to work with both of her selves living in the same city simultaneously? How did Rebecca get here and how does she get home?
Between Two Worlds by Christy Santo is a fantastic science-fiction novella. The story is an interesting cross between "Back to the Future" and "Life On Mars," with a nod at the "Twilight Zone." It has a fascinating premise, and the author did an excellent job of letting readers see Rebecca in both time periods. Rebecca's character is in a coma in one time dimension, and in another, she is living another person's life. In a generation where quantum physics is more prevalent, this is an intriguing tale for those who love books that push past the barriers of normal. This science-fiction novella is a great read for fans of time-travel stories.
