My professional career includes 14+ years as an award-winning travel agency owner, 25+ years in the accounting industry, and now, a best-selling, award winning fantabulous children’s author. I have always dreamed of writing children’s books and changing lives, but the timing was never right until now.
My work is inspired by my furry, not-human bestest friend and forever muse, Bentley, who has become the main character in my books along with his bestest not-furry human friend Betty and their trusty sidekick friend Mr. Bee. Bentley's Fantabulous Idea by Miki Taylor is a children's story inspired by her pet. Bentley is the fluffiest, cutest, and cuddliest sheepdog ever. He has a human friend, Betty, and a bumble bee friend, Mr. Bee. Bentley, Betty, and Mr. Bee always have fun and play whenever they are outside. But today, Betty doesn't want to play. She seems deep in thought. She has a challenging school project that involves finding many pictures of friends smiling, and it is taking up a lot of her time, thoughts, and fun. When Bentley comes up with the idea to take Betty around the block to the community watering hole, they meet groups of cheerful, winged, furry, not-furry, and other friends who have gathered to play and have fun. They are willing to pose and grin for the camera, but only if Betty can keep the predators watching from not too far away at bay. What's a girl and her two little friends to do?
Bentley's Fantabulous Idea is packed with exciting characters, magical moments of adventure, and lots of suspense. You never know who the next member joining "The Crew" will be or who they want to be far from to have their photos taken. Gorgeous illustrations that resemble cartoon snapshots help you better picture the adventure. The images get even more colorful when a proud peacock who doesn't shy away from posing in full display joins the group. Written to enlighten and entertain with life lessons, this book hits the mark in an utterly charming and engaging fashion. The sparkling story offers a thrilling adventure for young minds that not only shows the beauty of coexisting with local wildlife but also encourages them to explore possibilities and be clever when tackling challenges. It also puts emphasis on the importance of friendship and asking for help when things get complicated.
