This story demonstrates love, faith, and forgiveness. We need to learn to seek God's forgiveness and to forgive ourself. The ones that preach forgiveness need to learn to forgive, also.
Fairweather Key became the home to Ruby O'Shea after some pretty harsh living. Her three nieces are passed off as her daughters. Ruby (Claire) in an attempt to protect them and herself from her brother-in-law Thomas Hawkins, a pirate. She gets a job at a boardinghouse and works hard at what she does. She learns about God and asks for his forgiveness. She tries to live a proper life and raise the girls in a Godly manner. Micah her husband, loves her deeply however he has a hard time of forgiving her when he finds out about her sordid past.
I’ve come to admire Kathleen Y’barbo. Her books are inspiring. They are filled with God’s love and His message without being preachy.
