Belief-In-Self by Allen Filson is a fantastic account of one man's life experiences from childhood to present day, and how an unswerving self-belief was the catalyst towards triumph. A harsh and abusive childhood led him into the Marines where the training regime was brutal. Throughout his career and life, he faced numerous obstacles that could have broken his spirit and self-confidence. The one message I gained from this awe-inspiring tale was that no matter what adversities you face, there will be a solution. Giving up is never an option and, if you keep the faith in yourself and have the courage to follow your instincts, then success will be achieved. This is also an excellent training manual for managers to learn how to lead by example and build a team that is encouraged to think for themselves and have their own sense of self-belief.
