BE-ing Leadership: How to Thrive Using the SER Model, by Rodolfo Carrillo, is an inspiring guide to help you be the leader you are meant to be. The main concept is to BE instead of DO as a leader, and Carrillo explains the concept in an encouraging, succinct way. This approach is perfect for those who work hard but never seem to get ahead. What's the missing piece? YOU. You need to be 'being' instead of 'doing.' The author's plan is for established leaders and new leaders alike--especially leaders who have plateaued and are perplexed about what to do next as a leader. The SER model takes a deep dive into the intricacies of leadership and puts the responsibility squarely on your shoulders, no one else's. If your team is struggling, it's probably your fault. But not to worry, because SER is the blueprint you need to bring your team out of the wilderness and into the clear. You'll learn how to be an influencer, how to push yourself beyond your boundaries, and take your team with you as you go.
Carrillo explains that SER means "to be" in the Spanish language. You can unlock your leadership potential and take your skills up a notch, but it takes understanding human nature and deciding on what you want to be. The author shows that you can change the way you think about yourself, thus changing how you lead. Basically, it's a new way of being in the world. I love Carrillo's enthusiasm, which will be inspiring to leaders looking for improvement, but also to the average person needing a fresh perspective on their own lives and ways of perceiving themselves and others. I like the examples the author gives and the caring way he addresses mindful conscious leadership and responsibility. Key points include making different choices, acting with purpose, and developing awareness. If you are brave enough to change the way you lead, then start reading BE-ing Leadership: How to Thrive Using the SER Model, by Rodolfo Carrillo.
