Bailey's Day is about a dog named Bailey and his adventures with his doggy friend Frankie as they roam about their neighborhood. They have a lot of fun as they go swimming in a neighbor's pool; run down the creek to say hello to their different animal friends; stop in the park to eat ice cream from the children, and as they eat tacos from the taco man named Pete. Bailey's Day is based on a real life dog named Bailey. Bailey's dad is a mailman and he as the author, cleverly added actual pictures in the book of Bailey and himself.
I loved the book Bailey's Day and especially loved the illustrations by Bobbi Switzer and the real life pictures of Bailey. I related to the book Bailey's Day because I have a great big Alaskan Malamute/Husky/Wolf mix of my own, and I love all dogs. I found it really ironic that Bailey's dad is a mailman in the story and a mailman in true life. Most dogs do not like the mailman so the story was particularly interesting. I really liked this book and would definitely recommend it for the pre-school age child. I can't wait to read this book to my pre-school age children. Younger children will find this book simple to understand and will love the vivid colorful pictures.
