Bad People by John Sturgeon is a murder mystery story with a difference. It’s Christmas Eve in Milton, Illinois, and a winter storm has blown in. But it brings more than snow and ice. It brings murder – a Catholic priest taking Mass – and robbery. Before the investigation into the murder can start, another body turns up; this time an exotic animal keeper killed by a polar bear. Accidental? Who knows, but that polar bear is now on the rampage through Milton. Can Steve Marks and his team clean up the town? Are the thieves and murderers the same people, or are there two mysteries to solve? One thing’s for sure: Milton will never be the same again.
Bad People by John Sturgeon is the first in a series set in Milton, Illinois. I found this an easy read, highly enjoyable, and full of mystery and suspense. This is a story that will keep you guessing all the way through. It has some well-written characters, each with their own personality and a great plot. The twists and turns just keep on coming as you read; this is a real rollercoaster ride, and when you hop on at the start, there’s no getting off until it stops. I thoroughly enjoyed this action-packed tale. The author has a way of writing that makes you want to keep reading. He makes you feel like you are living the story in a thrilling experience. This book made me want to read the rest of the series, and it’s highly recommended for anyone who loves a good murder mystery.
