I am an author myself and have struggled with sales, but Heather has provided links to many free resources authors can use in their marketing efforts. Everything from free file storage to free posting to free auto responders is included, with tips for using them. Many sources say that building an opt in list is a vital part of your marketing and sales program. With an opt in list you can present offers of free or discounted books, a newsletter with your public appearance schedule, or send out notices when you are ready to publish a new book. Scrooby tells us how to get people to sign up and how to keep them.
This author guide will be a valuable resource for new and experienced authors. It will help you navigate Amazon's author platform, Smashwords, and Goodreads. Some of these resources are not completely user friendly so this assistance is very welcome. Heather Scrooby is a self styled entrepreneur who has an impressive portfolio of books to her credit. According to a note at the end of the book, she has several more books on the way and, while she doesn't make a point of this, she may also utilize affiliate programs for additional income so watch for those opportunities as well. If you are an author you can't afford to miss Heather Scrooby's Author Guide - Building an Opt-in List for your author marketing program.
