Wow! Just wow! That's what I first thought after I finished reading Ashes to Ashes: The Scribing of Ishitar, Volume II by author Carrie F. Shepherd. Following the story of angels and demons after they rebelled against God and were banished from heaven, this story is a unique and quite honestly awesome take on the fantasy genre. Iykva, a demon who has been trying to start a new mortal race, wants nothing more than to be on an equal footing with those angels that have been exiled. In order to do this, he starts a war with the elves, thinking that through a potential shared cause, he will get what he desires. However, Ishitar, one of the angels, thinks this mortal war is unimportant and instead is focused on gaining control of his father's throne through his pawn. Including all of the creatures you would expect in an epic fantasy read, from dragons to fairies to vampires to pixies, Ashes to Ashes is certainly a read that will include everything the fantasy fan wants in an excellent book.
I so enjoyed Ashes to Ashes: The Scribing of Ishitar, Volume II. Author Carrie F. Shepherd has written an absolutely stunning book filled with characters and action that will keep you turning the pages as quickly as you can. In fact, the best piece of advice I have for any reader who picks up this book would be to make sure you have time to read it from start to finish, because you simply will not want to put it down. Fun, exciting, adventurous, and definitely a little bit sexy, this book truly has something for everyone. I recommend Ashes to Ashes and I will certainly be waiting anxiously for the next work from Carrie F. Shepherd. This promising author has now been added to my must-read list!
