Anita Bombard is such a refreshing author as she mixes mystery, murder, and spark to her characters. Anger Unchecked (A Love Inc. Mystery) is her first book featuring AJ Love, who owns and operates a dating service business. She assists a client who struggles with the death of his wife and needs to find closure before going forward. This leads her to a disturbed grave with a foot sticking out in the open. AJ’s life becomes a whirlwind when a killer takes special notice of her. Detective Stone works closely with AJ to find the killer but realizes the murderer may be acquainted with her before the initial killing.
What I love about Anger Unchecked is Anita Bombard’s humor woven within the mysterious killer who leaves body parts on people’s doorsteps. AJ Love and Detective Stone have to work quickly as the clues reveal that the killer is running out of body parts to leave as messages. The question is will the murderer kill again, and will Love be the next victim? The danger she faces only brings Love and Stone together more often, which infuriates and excites Love at the same time. I loved the chemistry between AJ Love and Detective Stone. They work well together while trying to find their feelings for each other. I look forward to reading the next book in this series, Befuddled. I enjoyed the author’s humor and spice while keeping the mystery of who the real killer is and their relationship to AJ Love.
