Andato is a work of paranormal romantic fiction penned by author C. L. Monaghan. Written as the sequel to Immaginario, this concluding part of the tale gives us the repercussions and next steps in the love story of protagonists Naomi and Joe after the shocking cliff-hanger at the end of the first book. In this tale, Naomi takes a place at Marsh Mansion to begin a prospective new life, but it turns out she will do whatever it takes to have Joe back in her life. What results is a sweeping, magical and metaphysical tale of the heartbreak of lost love, and the question of whether true love really is worth fighting for or not.

Mature readers will appreciate the sensual and occasionally explicit use of language in this steamy and mystical romance novel, which exists on many different planes of reality within the author’s conceptual construction. Author C. L. Monaghan knows exactly how to appeal to the romance crowd, bringing heartbreak and sudden shocking moments that will have readers clutching their books, then other smooth and sensual daydream-like narrations which allow readers to sink into the fantasy. What results is a very emotive tale that never lets up on suspense and intrigue, with a heroine who is fully formed, emotionally raw and highly relatable to her audience. This makes Andato a highly accomplished read for the genre, and overall I would certainly recommend it and the series as whole to readers seeking metaphysical, mystical fantasy atmospheres with deep and passionate romance taking place within them.
