Brooks Almy is part of a family of performing artists. Her mother was an opera singer and an Army pilot, her father an aero-medical space research scientist and an operatic tenor.
First Broadway show: The Little Prince and the Aviator, plus five more. Many Off Broadway shows and national tours, also a principal artist with New York City Opera for five years.
Television includes: Dexter, Nip/Tuck, Without A Trace, West Wing, Aly McBeal, ER, CSI, NCIS, Hannah Montana, Frasier, Dharma and Greg and The George Lopez Show.

Brooks has a life long passion for teaching. She had a thirty year relationship with AMDA, teaching on both the New York and Los Angeles campuses. She travels extensively, all over the world, giving master classes and private coaching in musical theater, audition technique, acting for the camera and career preparation.
She has now begun a new career as a writer. Her debut novel. An Accidental Pirate will launch in April 2022. YA novel with a fiery heroine, sea battles, treasure hunts, storms and an unusual love story.
