Christine is an ex-secretary, wife, mother, grandmother – and a farmer for more than 40 years, now living on and enjoying this end of her life on a retirement farm in beautiful Australia.
Her book covers say 'Author - Christine Larsen', and it's true… finally. Decades ago her written creations were shelved, in the belief that editors' rejections equalled no talent. Instead she concentrated on raising a family and meeting the various needs of farming, including successfully raising a myriad of animals, nine of which were kangaroos.
Christine has been rescuing something or someone ever since – on Lifeline telephones; adopting three 'special needs' children; in the community as a Careworker; animals from shelters; and from the Charity shops – abandoned small knitted folk.
Throughout these years she remained an avid reader and wannabe author, constantly 'moodling' about this – until, like a volcano, Christine's creative writing skills had no choice but to erupt, and here she is - working her fingers to the bone on her computer and having the time of her life.

Almost Unbearable Tales by Christine Larsen is a collection of short tales which not only get into explaining why Ted Bear, esquire, needs glasses in a humorous fashion, (because our arms get shorter as we grow older), but run the gambit of possible subjects from playing the part of a pirate to hanging out with his Knitty Gritty Kids. Ted Bear gives some explanations for some of the unique cultural identities of Australia and even goes into great detail about how much his family loves football. Ted Bear, esquire, changes pace for a moment to consider how wonderful hugs and cuddling can be, especially with the grandparents. Then he talks about the dreams that he sometimes has at night and a special tale about a dream at Christmas time.
Christine Larsen has done it again with Almost Unbearable Tales, not that anyone should be surprised at the special gift that this writer has for creating a short, simple, and profound story. She has found the great pearl of wisdom that is hidden inside of the shell of simplicity and has a regular habit of reaching out and grabbing the heart of the reader’s imagination. This is a creative work of art from Down Under that is certain to be a classic. The appeal of the graphics is enough to assist a child in stirring up images of Ted Bear going about his day. The charming stories are like a small piece of candy or a potato chip; the reader will never be able to have just one. Anyone serious about encouraging children to read should have a bookshelf full of her books.
