Alien Bracelet Camp by Laurel Lorenzini is a charming and bright colorful journey about a young boy who goes away to camp. He is accompanied by a group of aliens who make the trip a bit more eventful than he had intended it to be. The illustrations created by Gabriel San Martin are out of this world, especially in the way that the facial expressions are portrayed. They are quite comical and you get a sense of being there in the moment with these young kids as they experience aliens making a mess of typical camp activities.

Laurel Lorenzini’s Alien Bracelet Camp combines humor with storytelling in a brilliant way. Not only does she alleviate any fear of beings from space with a goofier lighter form of alien, but she creates an environment highlighting the unique personalities of each alien. The book has the potential to cross over into the movie market. It has that cinematic essence with its powerfully created illustrations that feel close to Pixar quality. The humorous narrative will hold children’s attention and draw them into movie theaters, along with their parents. As a physical and digital book, it is also an excellent addition to any daycare, school, or at-home library. This is one of those exceptional children’s picture books that you will find yourself reading again and again to your children and perhaps to your secret aliens.
