The story introduces readers to Aaliyah P. and the excitement that precedes her birth where we get to read how the entire family is awaiting her arrival. When the nurse comes and says it's a girl, the entire family is thrilled and they think she is the prettiest thing they have ever seen. There are a lot of suggestions for the name, but finally her father decides on the name Aaliyah Paige and her grandmother calls her Aaliyah P. for short. The book chronicles the moments before and after Aaliyah is born.
The coloring pages at the end of the story will excite young readers. It's an adorable book that can be used for bedtime storytelling and for interactive sessions in classrooms and school libraries. The moments before and after Aaliyah's birth are palpable and readers can feel the excitement that runs through the friends and family of Aaliyah's parents.
