A Vow for Always, book six in Wanda E. Brunstetter’s The Discovery – A Lancaster County Saga, is the highly anticipated conclusion to this fast-moving and engaging series. Meredith and Luke are main characters that can easily be empathized with as they struggle with things that many of us “Englishers” struggle with from time to time as well.
Meredith and Luke have been faced with one trial and struggle after another as they are beginning their lives together as husband and wife. The ultimate trial is when Luke is believed to be dead. Meredith is trying to move on and is preparing to marry another Amish man, Jonah. However, Luke is very much alive and is slowly regaining his memory and Susan is falling in love with him. Will there be a happy ending for Meredith and Luke, and will it be with the two of them together or apart as so much as happened during the time they have been away from each other?
The author jumps right back into the lives of Meredith and Luke. Brunstetter’s stories are so easy to get lost in as the reader becomes a part of the characters’ lives. I found myself reading through this book so quickly, and becoming so engrossed in the events that I lost complete track of time. Meredith is one of my favorite characters out of all of Brunstetter’s books that I have read. She became so real in this story and I found myself laughing and crying along with her, which is a sign of an excellent story with excellent characters!
