In her beautiful life story A Triumphant Journey From Hell and From Hell to Redemption, Lori Cameron shares the struggles of growing up with an emotionally abusive mother and later her tormented relationship with her first husband, Brian. She shares the pain of leaving her two boys with Brian as she did not have the funds to care for them. Throughout her life, she experienced multiple health scares that resulted from a car accident she had while married to Paul. In addition to dealing with her emotional traumas, her subsequent marriages were to husbands with mental conditions, including bipolar and schizophrenia. Despite these turbulent times, she found solace in the beautiful dogs she saved, adopted, and cared for, gardening, and most notably, in the word of the Lord. Verses throughout this book show a different scripture for each trial and celebration she encountered in life.
A Triumphant Journey From Hell and From Hell to Redemption by Lori Cameron is an honest and intense memoir about her tempestuous but inspirational life journey and how Christ Jesus helped her find a new way to live and love. I was particularly touched by how she had to relearn speaking and writing after her car accident, and here she is writing about this journey in her memoir. Cameron’s courage is apparent through the many sensitive, private, and painful memories she shares. Through telling these stories her transparency and thus vulnerability is a testimony to her passion and bravery. Sharing such deeply emotional incidents cannot be easy. For that reason, I felt this book to be a refreshing memoir written by a courageous writer who never gave up despite her many challenges.
