Rhoda Byler lives in a small Amish community in Morgansville, while over in a little Community in Harvest Mills Samuel King resides tending to the family apple orchard which is called, King’s Orchard. Since some strange things have happened with Rhoda and her herbal medicines, people in the community think she is somewhat weird, maybe even dabbling in witchcraft, causing strained relationships within their family. On the other hand, Samuel is struggling financially with the orchard because he has just not getting enough money from his apples to support the business. Through very unique circumstances with Samuel’s sister, Rhoda and Samuel’s paths cross, and Samuel offers Rhoda a proposition that will help them both.
Cindy Woodsmall does it again! She writes another masterpiece for her readers. Samuel and Rhoda’s story shows that Amish families suffer difficulties and complication just as the rest of us. Samuel was concerned with his sister running with the wrong crowd and Rhoda is struggling because of a family member spreading lies about she and her herbal and canning business. This is one of those books that you just can’t put down! There are so much going on and so many twists and turns throughout the story. All the reliable and believable characters develop really well as the story unfolds. And I appreciate that through the lives of the characters in this story, Cindy Woodsmall shows the importance of trust in God throughout our lives, no matter what the circumstances are. I highly recommend "A Season for Tending" for everyone who enjoys Amish fiction or Christian fiction. It is also an excellent choice for you if you just want good, clean, enjoyable books.
