A Home for Helena (Lady P Chronicles Book 2) follows Helena Lloyd as she maneuvers life in London, a place where she always felt she was drawn. She had a Masters degree in British History, and that should translate to something awesome, right? She becomes an au pair for a well-off couple, one of whom keeps trying to catch her in a compromising position. When she's not dodging his wandering hands, she searches through antique stores for things that speak to her. She finds a painting she can't walk away from, but doesn't understand why. Things escalate at her place of employment and she finds herself sacked and homeless, and befriended by a gypsy who talks to her about time travel.

I am going to be perfectly honest. I normally turn my nose up at time travel books. They are usually contrived and somewhat silly. This book made me love the time travel concept! I couldn't put it down, and the first day I was reading it I considered being late for work so I didn't have to put it down. It is just that good. Susana Ellis has a great way with her characters. They have a depth to them that made this a believable story, one where the reader is powerless against wanting to be a part of the world that Helena found her way into, and to have a chance to jump into a different century. I highly recommend A Home for Helena to any reader who wants to go on an adventure and have a great time doing so.
