A Girl Who Found Her Pulse is a children's picture book by Abhi Sharma. When seven-year-old Kelly catches a cold, her mom takes her to the doctor. At the clinic, Kelly sees a strange device with cords, but her mother reassures her that this is how doctors check the pulse of their patients. As the days pass, Kelly recovers from her cold and feels better than ever. She also becomes curious about checking her pulse. But it takes a while for Kelly to feel her pulse. She learns that the pulse is the beating of our hearts. Excited about the discovery, Kelly tells her entire family about it, including her brother and sister, as well as her friends. After getting her hands on a stethoscope, a spark is lit in her heart to become a doctor.
Curiosity leads to discovery, which, in turn, makes people eager to learn new things. A Girl Who Found Her Pulse is an adventure tale for kids that follows a young girl's beginnings on her way to chase her dream of becoming a doctor. Abhi Sharma tells a heartwarming story that encourages young readers to be curious and open to learning new things. Kelly is a precocious child who, after learning about the beating of the human heart, can't help but delve into her discovery. Young readers will find her relatable, and her drive and passion to learn are admirable, even for adults. Additionally, illustrator Tahzeeb Aslam does a fantastic job with the artwork. In conclusion, this is an engaging and informative picture book that will entertain and educate children, as well as inspire them to follow their dreams.
