A Demand of Blood; The Cherokee War of 1776 is written by Nadia Dean. This book was created as a non-fiction historical genre. The design, layout, and formatting of the book are perfect, filled with photography, drawings, maps, and easy to read text. There is a story line within the pages that tells the story of the Native American Cherokee Tribe pre, during, and post the American Revolution.
Nadia Dean's well researched book of the Cherokee War during the American Revolution is not only an intellectual pleasure for the reader, but also, entertainment, adventure, raw emotion, culture, heroism, historical fact, and much more. The story tells of a great war chief Dragging Canoe and his tribe members as they fought against their banishment and the takeover of their land, lives, and culture. Both the Colonial Americans and the British alike were trying to strip them of everything, while they fought a war for the land and freedom.
This creation of factual, historical, well researched detail of the Cherokee nation is spectacular. The length of the book is large but worth every page. Reading it twice doesn't even do it justice. There is so much wonderful information in this book, it will need to be read many times. For a person wanting to learn more about the American Revolution, and the Native American history, this book is a must read. Nadia Dean writes the story and facts in such a way, that it brings the story to life. I absolutely loved this book and will be reading it many, many times.
