There is a terrorist plot afoot in some of the largest cities in the country and it’s going to be a dangerous mission for Agent Jaxon and the rest of CT-Two as well. A terrorist cell is destroying their team, but what’s even worse is there may just be a mole in their department. If they don’t figure out who it is quickly, they may not survive to save the country from the biggest disaster it’s ever seen. On the other side of town, however, a group of men are out to serve their own supposedly noble purposes. It’s going to be a battle of wits to determine who’s the strongest and the smartest. Will the government agents win out, or will the terrorists succeed in setting off the biggest ring of nuclear bombs that’s ever been seen in A Chameleon’s Shadow by Thom Fillinger?

I found myself drawn into this book quite quickly. It has many interesting characters and I love how you get to see different points of view. It actually shows you not only the good guys but the bad ones as well. I was definitely left guessing until the very end. Terrorist attacks are something that happen with an alarmingly increasing frequency, which is probably what makes this book so exciting, but it’s also very realistic, which makes it even better. You could actually see most of these things happening and that’s what kept me on the edge of my seat. I definitely recommend A Chameleon’s Shadow to anyone who likes adventure and mystery.

A Chameleon's Shadow by Thomas Fillinger begins with the identification of a nuclear device by agent Jackson. In the ensuing struggle with the enemy, he is caught and tortured, but is rescued in time to escape from an agonizing death. Further investigations begin, as well as the assembly, distribution, procurement of radioactive materials from Russian states, and its tactical placement in and around important cities of the USA. The real threat of the possibility of inflicting severe harm with devastating consequences to American society looms large. The search continues, with the hunter as well as the hunted equally adept at their jobs.

A Chameleon's Shadow by Thomas Fillinger is an absorbing tale, capable of retaining one's interest till the very end. All the important aspects of the investigation, the suspense, the preparation, and the sudden turn of events are shown vividly in these pages. Exciting and intriguing, this story boasts characters almost drawn from the real world, with elements of violence and destruction added to enhance the plot. The sharp faculties of the investigator and the total commitment of the perpetrators of violence are contrasted with one another, with the upper hand going in either direction till the climactic end. There is a quite unexpected and shocking turn of events at the climax. My one criticism is the selection of characters for this novel, like many other novels with similar plots, follows a predictable path as far as their background and ethnicity goes, affecting its novelty value.

A Chameleon’s Shadow: Nuclear Terrorist Evades U.S. Capture by Thomas Fillinger is a chilling story about the CT-2 counter terrorist team’s pursuit of a terrorist cell that has deadly nuclear arms at their disposal, poised to be detonated in several major cities of the United States of America. The story unravels with agent Billy Jaxton as he manages to go through a ten-foot cyclone fence and inside a warehouse, where he discovers traces of nuclear radiation. Captured by his nemesis, Dr. Hassan Yusuf aka Ibrahim, he is tortured but is rescued by his team. The discovery confirms that there are nuclear terrorist cells operating in the US, putting the whole country in grave danger. The highly trained CT-2 team, headed by Gordon Manning, has to move fast and capture the chameleon-like Ibrahim who now calls himself Jerry Gold. Psychic Regina Hirkos is summoned to assist them, but can they really stop these fanatics who are willing to die for their cause?

A ruthless nuclear terrorist cell’s leader, the elusive Dr. Hassan Yusuf, and one of the CT-2 counter terrorist team’s agents, Billy Jaxton, are the main protagonists in the novel A Chameleon’s Shadow: Nuclear Terrorist Evades U.S. Capture. Author Thomas Fillinger has certainly done his research and the result is a book that sends cold shivers down the reader’s spine. Clear and vivid, the scenarios described in this book could actually happen in real life. Fillinger’s knowledgeable and perspicacious story not only lets us get a good look at how terrorists and counter terrorists work, but also identifies the deeply rooted differences between two cultures, taking care not to condemn one side or the other. Fast paced and easily readable, this book will open our eyes to the clear and present danger that our world is actually facing today.

I found this book to be a riveting, action packed story, with many unpredictable twists and turns along the way! There was a good mix of action, humor, grief, and elation with the ultimate triumph of good over evil. The characters, both good and evil, were well described and developed, giving the reader a complete picture as the story unfolded. I would highly recommend this book!
