Author and magician Mitch Williams presents to us A Call to Magic that is packed with suggestions on how to completely change our perspective on life and the world around us; living a life of true magic and inspiration. As a prominent figure on creativity, peak performance, and personal transformation, he shares with us how to apply this shift in perception to achieve more success, fulfillment, and peace of mind in every part of our lives.
The Artful Science of Transforming Self and World – this subtitle seals my interest to read the book. Mitch Williams shares a lot of his personal experiences when he discusses the issues at hand and introduces the ‘magic’ approach. Each topic that he covers is deeply insightful and I like the sayings and proverbs of established intellectuals and icons that are included. A Call to Magic also has this honest, spiritual tone that is endearing to me. I do have my personal favorite; chapter thirteen, The Problem of Religion.
It is easy to read with its straightforward prose. However, there are times when I feel that Mr. Williams could actually cut down the portion of some discussed topics and just get to the actual point. That aside, I truly enjoyed this transformative self-help guide. Mitch Williams’s distinctive perception of magic and self growth will keep you transfixed. “You can choose to answer the call to magic and choose a life of magic, first for yourself, and consequently, inevitably, for the world. The choice is yours.”
