98: The Witch's Prophecy (Rise of the Battle Bred Book 2) by V.L. Holt is a clean, young adult paranormal romance that follows two distinct story lines. The first revolves around William and Jane. William and Jane navigate their new friendship. Unfortunately, enemy forces are stockpiling near Deer Fjord and are planning a battle of epic proportions. At the same time, William and his father are suspected of murder while Jane recovers from a terrible attack. The second story line is told by Agnes in her own words. Agnes is a First Mother. She is a devoted Christian and a child of the Middle Ages. She shows just how important women are and how strong they have had to become just because they were born female. Her story gives details about the Warrior race creation that readers have yet to see or hear about.
This story is skillfully written as V.L. Holt has basically woven two distinct story lines together (one that is another point of view of a story already told in the first book in the series). This takes talent and a mastery that many writers just do not have. Fans of this series will love the continuance. Agnes is the best part about this book! Her section really shines. Those who have not read the first part of this series will immediately want to backtrack to read the beginning of this story so they aren't missing a single piece of the action and adventure that this story promises.
