Do you often look at your life and ask yourself, 'Isn't there more to life than this?' Sometimes life's obstacles and traumas can take us off track and inhibit us from following our goals and dreams. In 30 Days To A Better You by Shirley Walker-King, for thirty days, you are invited to focus on one aspect of your life, check out your responsibilities to others, and check in on yourself. Only when you can find the courage to place yourself first can you benefit and help others. For thirty days you will discover how to set healthy boundaries, learn how to love and appreciate yourself and others, take control of the choices you make each day, learn to believe in yourself, and use your unique strengths to propel yourself forward, plus much more. Once you learn to believe in yourself, you will realize that anything is possible and positive change is completely within your grasp.
Shirley Walker-King's 30 Days To A Better You is such an easy book to follow and I love the thirty-day concept to make small changes in your life for huge results. The techniques and tips are numerous and so easy to put into practice. Shirley poses many questions throughout which inspire you to take positive action in many areas of your life from relationships, spirituality, and personal development. I thought the chapters on gratitude, nurturing relationships, and learning how to forgive yourself were the most powerful for me. The journal sections that have to be completed each day were a great addition as this is a real motivator to analyze your inner thoughts and behaviors. Each aspect of your life is covered; the changes that are recommended are so very small but extremely effective. I believe anyone can achieve great results from completing this amazing guide. There are many inspiring quotes throughout but this is definitely my favorite: “What you’re thinking is what you’re becoming” -- Muhammad Ali.
