Evangeline has had a difficult life. Losing her parents while she was still somewhat young and then her brother and her aunt shortly after. But nothing can prepare her for what her aunt’s husband has planned for her once she’s alone. Instead of living comfortably in her aunt’s house until she reaches the age required to access her trust fund, Evangeline instead finds herself on the run. A chance encounter with a stranger changes her entire life and, instead of heading towards London and the safety of her solicitor, she finds herself heading in the other direction, with a man she just met, whom she can only hope is honorable. But Kendall will prove himself to her as many times as it takes until she is certain that he won’t harm her in The Ice Goddess by Hannelore Moore.

I found myself captivated by this tale of Evangeline and Kendall. They are such interesting people with both being a little hardheaded and strong-willed, but really only wanting to be happy. Though they don’t want to admit it to each other, things are progressing between them and that drew me into the story even more. Evangeline is still a child in some ways because of how she was brought up, but the events help her to grow and change as seen in this book. I loved how she did grow because it was so relatable and it was so easy for a reader to understand and feel like they were right there beside her. The Ice Goddess is definitely a book I recommend.
