In 1996, Los Angeles Police Detective Danny McGuire investigates the horrific murder of wealthy Andrew Jakes and the brutal beating and rape of his beautiful young wife, Angela. Danny resettles in France and marries, but the murder pattern continues. In England police are faced with the death of older and quite wealthy Piers Henley and the accompanying dreadful attack upon his young wife, Tracey. Then again, the pattern continues in France in 2005 as Didier Anjou is killed and his much younger wife, Irina, brutalized and injured. Finally, in Hong Kong in 2006, wealthy, older Miles Baring is killed, and his lovely young wife Lisa is raped and beaten. Who is behind this series of crimes? Danny is currently working for Interpol and is drawn back reluctantly into these mysterious rape/murders by Matthew Daley, son of the original victim, Andrew Jakes.
There is no one in the world who could create a story of suspense like the late Sidney Sheldon but author Tilly Bagshawe has created a masterpiece of suspense that does Sheldon's memory proud! "Angel of the Dark" will keep the readers' attention until the story's very last words as one of the two "bad guys" continues on beyond the story with their evil deeds. Danny McGuire and Matt Daley play totally believable characters as they ferret out the truth of all these killings as are the two "bad guys" who are scary from their pyschotic teenage beginnings. The plot line is superior from the book's beginning to its conclusion. "Angel of the Dark" belongs on reading lists everywhere. It's a gem!
