Mr. and Mrs. Elliott had the most beautiful home in the neighborhood. It might have been small, but it had a colorful garden and a lovely charm. But over the years, their neighborhood changed drastically. Their neighbors sold their houses, and three-story or four-story buildings were built in their place. The Elliotts loved their home and did not wish to sell it. Their little house was sandwiched between large buildings, and the couple felt intimidated. They stopped maintaining the garden and structure, which became dilapidated One day Mr. Elliott found photos in the attic that showed joyful memories their family shared in their lovely home, and this reignites their passion to restore the house to its former glory. Follow Mr. and Mrs. Elliott in their efforts to renovate their home in Our Little House by Rita Mendoza.
A house is not just a building; it is a nest of precious memories. Our Little House reminds us of the importance of family and togetherness. Rita Mendoza brought a tear to my eye with her heartwarming writing skills. The Elliotts are a typical elderly neighborhood couple living in a family house that they are desperately trying to hold on to. They have familiar struggles, which make them relatable. The illustrations in this book tell the story perfectly. They are bright and attractive, which is ideal for children. I loved this book, and I hope more people read it. I recommend that you read it with your children to teach them about the importance of family.
