"Bloody Murder" by Kate Kulig provides the reader with murder, romance, an accurate picture of the life and food of New Orleans and an all around good story. Zofia Smith is the heroine of the story. She had been forced to leave behind a career in journalism several years ago and she moves to New Orleans to be closer to her best friend Marie. Zofia opened the Bloody Murder Book Store with Feliz Castro as a working partner in the French Quarter offering books and croissants. The book store is doing well and Zo is happily enjoying life until the morning she comes downstairs and trips over a dead man at the bottom of the stairs. The clues lead back to Zo’s Polish origins. Soon there are threats to her life, mysterious phone calls and troubles for her friends and co-workers. It appears that all of her family may not be dead as Zo thought but instead the cause of her troubles. The only good is that it brings Michael into her life, the man she will quickly fall in love with and stands close by to hold her hand through the hard times.

Kate Kulig has written an action packed mystery romance. The description of the New Orleans food will have your mouth watering and send you to the kitchen for a snack. The characters are likeable, the location accurately described and the story down to earth and possible. "Bloody Murder" will hook you from the beginning and keep you reading long into the night. This book can easily become an award winning movie. I anxiously await Kate Kulig’s next book.
