Sometimes, in the midst of reading fiction, I enjoy reading poems for a change, so I chose Nadia Brown’s book of poetry to read. As I read each poem, I enjoyed sensing her personality as she puts her beautiful creations in writing. Some of the things she writes about are flowers, birds, rivers, oceans and other interests of nature. She writes about mistakes, great expectations, dreams and purpose in life. She speaks of faith, prayer, fear and death, and even as she speaks of death there is a feeling of calmness within her writings. She enjoys her niece and two nephews, whom she calls ‘The Rug-rats,,’ as she so lovingly writes about them.

I especially liked the article, “What is My Purpose,” where she uses the Bible verse Jeremiah 29:11 to explain how to know and find your purpose in life. I like that she speaks of why it is important to have a purpose as we go through life; and when we know that God has a purpose for our lives, that His plan is for our good, not our evil. This is an article for everyone to read!

This book is full of heartwarming poems, and she adds a few very helpful articles as well. I enjoy the calm feeling I had in reading the author’s poems and articles. These writings are not only beautiful and enjoyable, but throughout the book, there are so many helpful hints, ideas and truths to help us use our talents to fulfill the purpose God has for our lives. I encourage you to grab a copy of this book, sit down and enjoy the beautiful writings of this talented young lady.
